AI Generated Podcast - About Authoring
How this Deep Dive was generated.
In a life before becoming a full time writer and creative coach, I spent 30 years in information technology as a programmer and then a manager so I tend not to fear technology, but I have a healthy wariness as we enter this, what I consider, infant stage of this technology.
A lot of work goes into writing the content for all of my courses. At the time of writing this has been a 6 month process. All content is written by me. The materials and lessons come from years of experience and continued research. I don't think there is ever a time where we can say we know it all, so I feel I'm a life student. Perhaps that's why you are here? Knowledge fills you up, especially when it's a passion.
When approaching the creation of a lesson, I always begin with a list of what I wish to cover - perhaps it's as simple as including information I wish I had known before I wrote my first book. From there, I create a structure - and this does shift around, it tends to grow. This structure helps me create the detailed lessons; or the materials that will guide you gently towards your next creative task to come away from your study feeling you have achieved. It's a long process, this school and it's courses has taken 6 months to set up, to-date.
Why use AI?
I've learned not to fear AI as AI is not a substitute for human interaction. It has no feelings and cannot understand emotion. It cannot tell stories like we do. We have a unique voice which AI cannot mimic.
I include AI for analysing the finished materials, which I write.
What does using this tool give me? 'Relatively' unbiased feedback on the detailed content. I say relatively as AI is learning from us humans so, I do believe, programmed bias will exist.
The analysis and feedback I receive, helps me decide: "Have I included all of the details, will you as a student understand the purpose of this course or have I inadvertently omitted significant detail?
It helps me understand where I need to add more information and perhaps even less, either by creating a written synopsis or by listening to this deep dive.
As humans we all learn differently and the more feedback and more ways I receive feedback the more I can improve upon what I am creating for you and for me.
AI is not a substitute for human interaction and it's not encouraged as a writing substitute for you in this course.
The platform I use to generate this helps me take a lot of material and do a quick analysis. I hope this helps you to understand what we will be doing, but if not you'll be able to read my materials and I explain it in my words in my welcome video.
It does not mean using AI is a quick fix as I have not once received a synopsis where the document isn't flawed. So be aware if you are using AI in the same way you still need to verify your content.
